If you are a parent or carer and your child is being assessed using the Boxall Profile®, this is very good news. It means that the teachers or professionals working with your child want to make sure that your child is getting the best access to education and being supported in a way your child will respond best. The Boxall Profile® is a tool that allows professionals working with children and young people to assess and identify their levels of social skills, emotional skills or behavioural difficulties and support them as necessary with the most appropriate interventions.
The Boxall Profile® works by comparing the results of your child’s assessment against a set of scores obtained from an average sample of children of a relevant age. If a child is scoring outside the expected range of scores, this would indicate the child may be experiencing difficulties with certain social or emotional skills. This then allows their school to place appropriate support to respond to those difficulties.
Many schools assess all their pupils to track progress, set targets and gain an overview of the whole school's needs. Assessing children and young people using the Boxall Profile® empowers practitioners to identify needs early and put in place interventions to better support the children in their care.
Schools and educational professionals use the Boxall Profile® Online in different ways to help with identifying difficulties and planning interventions, so we always advise any parents or carers with specific questions on how it is being used to help a child to contact the school or professional directly.
